Gabriel Moses stages a theatrical ode to style and soul. Chieska Fortune Smith, James Brodribb, and Lucie Rox spotlight a new generation of UK artists and musicians. Jack Davison’s portraits of Shabaka Hutchings and Moses Boyd channel quiet intensity, while Al Pereira and Guy Le Querrec resurrect the golden age of hip hop and jazz. Bruce Davidson and Leonard Freed ground the issue in the historic urgency of civil rights.

Also featuring work by William P. Gottlieb, Berenice Abbott, Saul Leiter, and Roberto Polillo, this volume reverberates like a mixtape of collective cultural memory.
